Travel with confidence
A safer journey for everyone.

ParcelBuddy connects senders with everyday couriers travelling in the same direction. Because deliveries happen person-to-person rather than through a courier company, everyone on the platform is expected to follow these guidelines to keep deliveries safe, honest, and reliable.
1. Before Accepting or Posting a Job
- Only accept jobs you can realistically complete on your planned route and timeline.
- Read the parcel description, weight, and any special notes before accepting — don't accept a job you can't safely carry.
- As a sender, describe your parcel honestly, including its weight, contents, and whether it's fragile.
- Agree on the reward and any handover details with the other party before confirming.
2. Handling Parcels Safely
- Inspect a parcel at pickup — if it seems tampered with, mismatched to its description, or you're uncomfortable with it, you can decline the handover.
- Keep parcels secure and upright during transport, especially anything marked fragile.
- Never open, inspect the contents of, or tamper with a parcel that isn't yours.
- Deliver directly to the intended recipient and confirm the delivery PIN before handing it over.
- Report any damage that occurs during transit to the sender and to ParcelBuddy support immediately.
3. Prohibited & Restricted Items
Never send or carry items that are illegal, dangerous, or restricted under Sri Lankan law, including but not limited to:
- Firearms, weapons, ammunition, or explosives
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances
- Hazardous, flammable, or corrosive chemicals
- Counterfeit goods or stolen property
- Live animals, unless properly permitted and agreed upon in advance
- Perishable goods without adequate packaging
If you're ever asked to carry something that feels off, you're within your rights to decline the job.
4. Meeting in Person
- Choose public, well-lit locations for handovers whenever possible.
- Share your live trip details with someone you trust if you're meeting a stranger for the first time.
- Confirm the other person's identity matches their ParcelBuddy profile before handing anything over.
- Trust your judgment — you can always cancel or walk away from a handover that feels unsafe.
5. Identity & Trust
Every courier and sender must complete identity verification before using the platform — this is why ParcelBuddy asks for a government-issued ID and a selfie holding it. Verification helps everyone on the platform know who they're dealing with, but it doesn't replace common sense: always use good judgment during handovers, and report any user who behaves suspiciously.
6. Conduct
- Communicate honestly and respectfully with senders and couriers.
- Show up for jobs you've accepted, or cancel with as much notice as possible if your plans change.
- Never ask for or offer payment outside the agreed reward, and never request sensitive personal or financial information from another user.
- Harassment, threats, or fraud of any kind will result in account suspension.
7. Reporting an Issue
If a delivery goes wrong, a parcel is damaged or lost, or another user violates these guidelines, use the dispute option on the job or contact us at [email protected]. As set out in our Terms of Service, ParcelBuddy is a connection platform and does not take possession of parcels — but we do review reports and act on accounts that put others at risk.
